As lead singer of Vayu—one of India’s defining rock bands of the 2000s—2Blue became the voice of a generation that refused to settle. Then he went solo... performing with members of Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, and Dokken, while stepping into iconic roles in Jesus Christ Superstar and Jaya: The Victory.

FROM AGARTALA TO THE WORLD​

In the 2016 sequel of Rock On, Purab Kohli asks about the lead singer of Vayu. For a generation of rockers born in the ‘80s, that scene carried more emotional weight than the rest of the movie. Because that lead singer was real. He was Tirthankar Poddar, or simply 2Blue: the boy from Agartala who left home, quit his job at 40, and headlined their college festival.

THE PLACE HE MADE​

What followed Vayu was reinvention. Stages got bigger and stakes got higher: Bumblefoot (Guns N’ Roses), Paul Di’Anno (Iron Maiden), and George Lynch (Dokken). Then came Judas in Alyque Padamsee's Jesus Christ Superstar and Yudhishthira in Lillete Dubey's Jaya: The Victory. Along the way came ‘Best Band’ at Hungama, India and ‘Song Of The Year’ at the AVIMA Awards, Asia. But the real achievement was something else. Somewhere between the green rooms, the stages, and the late-night drives home, 2Blue became part of people’s lives. He didn’t just find a place. He made one.

THE HOMECOMING​

For many, 2Blue’s new album is a homecoming. What started at their college festival has survived MySpace, Orkut, marriage, career, parenthood, and everything life tossed their way. The music has become a reminder of how infinite they used to be. That reminder marks the next chapter: Dance With Infinity
